In Texas, 31 percent of Hispanic eligible voters are 18 to 29 years old. These young Latinos are on their way to becoming the majority demographic overall among Texas Latino voters, a position that is currently held by 30- to 44-year-old Latinos. “Couple these numbers with the fact that Latino voters comprise almost 40 percent of eligible Texas Democratic voters,” wrote Marisa Treviño for Spot On in 2008. “It's an implication that deserves attention.”

Former Fugee member Pras sat down the other day and explained why he won’t be supporting his cousin Wyclef Jean and his bid for Presidency in Haiti. He explained that he doesn’t think Jean has a comprehensive plan for the beleaguered country. He cited the 1.2 million people who are currently living in tent cities and Wyclef’s lack of details in crafting a plan to deal with them. He says that Haiti needs a short term and long term strategy and doesn't feel Wyclef has developed them.

So Jasiri hit the studio with producer Cynik Lethal while Paradise grabbed his video camera and they went on their mission to defeat the Right Wing propaganda machine.

*update April 23 2010-Arizona Gov Janet Brewer just signed into law this crazy bill #SB 1070 which will allow police to stop and check your proof of citizen ship. President Obama spoke out and said the Bill is Misguided. Folks are saying he could've been more forceful..Below is a picture that has beenpassed around Twitter that explains this best..

This new law just passed in Arizona is something we must absolutely oppose. It masquarades as a much needed law to crack down on 'illegal immigration', but really it's an excuse to racially profile all types of people who are 'suspected' of being in this country illegally. Translation-if your Brown expect to be engaged by the police. This is not likely to be applied to white people coming from other countries..The whole scheme reminds us of what used to took place in Apartheid,  South Africa and currently takes place in Israel/Palestine.  With the passing of this new law, we say its time for Public Enemy to redo thjeir classic song 'By the Time I get to Arizona' where they protested Arizona not honoring Dr Martin Luther King's bday.. This time around they need to do it in Spanish.
