Alief Apartments as Communities Project

Alief is the most diverse area of Houston and has a high concentration of youth who lack appropriate activities and social outlets. Gangs, vandalism and drop out rates are all rising. To improve the community, Texans Together, along with the City and the apartment owners, has established an on-site resource center in a modest income, thousand-person apartment complex.  Texans Together is helping residents to obtain needed services, such as after-school programs and CHIP enrollment. Texans Together also is engaging residents to work together to reduce crime and advocate for improvements in youth services and schools. Click here to donate to this project!
