Rad Rich Brings the Cipher Listening Tour to Mango's November 1st
You might have seen the band Cipher in the movie Afro Punk or ripping the stage in one of their shows. Now lead singer Moe Mitchell is hitting the road for intimate listening parties tour from October 15 to November 15. He will be in Houston November 1st at Mango's start time is 8:00 pm. The cost is free but we are asking for donations. Moe describes this tour as part music, part community building, part organizing. He also says the goals for these listening parties is to use the themes of the new music to engender conversation around, politics, and culture. Moe will play new music from the new CD, “The Joyous Collapse” and facilitate a community dialog in every stop of the listening tour.
The show is going to be at Mango's Sunday November 1st starting at 8:00pm. Mango's is located at 403 Westheimer and Taft. Mango's is located in the heart of the Montrose community serving vegetarian and vegan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. They also offer a full bar and free wifi.
Rad Richard has been promoting the sounds of Ska and other music in Houston for years and is the innovator behind the successful KPFT Big Ska Night Out benefits in the early 90’s. He has also been known for his on-air work on 90.1 KPFT for the last 17 years. He hosted the Rad Rich Rock and Roll Revue radio show for over 10 years which was a good mix of ROCKABILLY, hardcore, punk and garage rock. The show is over but had interviewed everyone from ROCKABILLY great Charlie Gracie to Pennywise.
