Our champion of progressive and environmental causes is facing an opponent
Our friend Lon Burnam is a leading progressive and environmentalist in the Texas House not just in votes, but in seniority and service on one of the key committees.
He is facing a Democratic Primary opponent for the first time since he was elected in 1996. Lon, a Democrat from Ft. Worth, has worked so closely with Austin progressives passing good legislation and blocking so many bad bills that we can't imagine what it would be like to lose such a great ally.
On the positive side, a Democratic majority in the Texas House (and we are just two seats away) would put him in a new leadership role.
Please help keep Representative Lon Burnam working for progressive Democratic values in the Texas House.
