When you talk to a lot of elders in the community you hear them remark fondly about the ‘Age of Camelot’ in the early 60s. This was when a young John F Kennedy ascended to the White House against all odds and his two brothers Robert and Edward aka ‘Ted’ came along with him and took high profile seats in the government. Robert became Attorney General and Ted went on to start what would be a 47 year tenure in the Senate.
This should be very interesting and we should pay close attention to how this unfolds. On one hand we all remember the immense controversy that took place during the Democratic primaries. Obama supporters complained of voter suppression tactics by Hillary supporters. Others were upset when Obama came away with more delegates at the end of the day because he had a shrewd two-step caucus strategy. LULAC is not saying whether or not they were upset that one candidate over another received more delegates, but conventional wisdom suggest this may have been spawned from the Clinton defeat.
