Strange things seem to be happening as of late when it comes to political positioning around the country and how it may impact the Democrats. First in South Carolina, the nation was stunned when an unemployed, army vet with no noticeable political experience and who held no political rallies or functions won the Democratic nomination for US Senate in last weeks 'Super Tuesday' primaries.
Everyone is talking about yesterday’s elections and how the gubernatorial victories in Virginia and New Jersey are key indicators that the Republican Party is back and on the attack. I’m also hearing a lot of talk about the ‘impressive’ finish New York’s mayoral candidate Bill Thompson did up against the massive money (100 million dollars) spent by current Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Thompson came within 4% of winning after it was predicted that Bloomberg would beat him by as much 10-15%.
It's been a long time since we heard from President Barack Obama who many of us enthusiastically elected into office. It was the Obama who was passionate, inspiring, hopeful and clear. It was an Obama who wasn’t capitulating and forever apologizing. It was good to hear President Obama for once directly take on his critics and dispel many of the myths, lies and distortions that have plagued aspects of his Health Reform Bill… We give President Obama an ‘A’ for style and an ‘A’ for effort…
